Vertical Black started in 2011 as a way for working artists to put their craft to work for the community around them. We're part of a small cultural hub in Webster — the same people who teach classes, make art, and show up at local events.
Every order supports local artists and community programming.
Meet the artist
Morcego
Alexandro Silveira
Vertical Black is run by Morcego, an artist from Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, now based in the Webster area. Tattoo artist, screen printer, and capoeirista, he brings the same eye for detail to every shirt that he brings to his ink work.
When he's not at the press, he's tattooing black-and-grey and blackwork at his private studio, Bat Cave Ink.
